Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), Women Business Enterprises (WBE), Minority Business Enterprises

Construction Empowerment Initiative (CEI)
Offers certification for construction-related Small Business Enterprises (SBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), Women Business Enterprises (WBE), Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Airport Concessionaire Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (ACDBE), and Small Business Enterprise Concessions (SBEC). Certification helps these businesses compete for city funded projects (it doesn't guarantee a bid award, only reduces competition). Free CEI training is available every Friday 9-11am, though you must RSVP. A non-refundable application fee and annual renewable fees apply. This program may be expanded in the future for non-construction products and services (outside of the DIA concessionaire program).

Hub Zone
The HUBZone Program stimulates economic development and creates jobs in urban and rural communities by providing Federal contracting preferences to small businesses. These preferences go to small businesses that obtain HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) certification.
